Day 28 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
Well today is the last day of our 28 day Prayer Journey. I have really enjoyed it and hope you have also. Thanks for all the comments and emails. I am always happy to hear your ideas. As we share with each other, all of us benefit.
I would like to recap some of the highlights of the trip. At the very beginning, we compared our journey with the Ezekiel 47 vision of water flowing from the temple. As the Holy Spirit flowed from God’s altar, the water became deeper and deeper until it was a river where you had to swim. (Your feet couldn’t touch bottom). In the same way, as we are willing to step out into deeper knowledge and commitment, we see ourselves growing in the power of our prayers. Continue reading “Into The Future”
Day 27 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end.
That you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Time. It takes time. Ugh! We want everything done instantly. We want to snap our fingers or find out a few words which can be spoken for instantaneous reward. But we all know that life isn’t that way. Just as Oaks start out as tiny acorns and eventually reach their destiny, so are we, our children, our health, our marriages, and our finances.
A few year ago I had an experience with the Lord which I’d like to share. I had been fasting, praying, and reading the word. I was reading in Matthew 13, when my eyes fell on verse 44: Continue reading “Never, Never Quit”
Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
One of the most fundamental rules of the universe is wrapped up in these scriptures: What you sow is what you reap. If you sow finances, you reap money. If you sow love, you reap love. If you sow forgiveness, you reap forgiveness. If you sow hate,….oh, let’s don’t go there!
My husband has often taught on this principle. He calls it the “Law of Measure.” It’s as if all of creation holds this balancing scale, and we get to decide how much of God’s grace comes our way by what we do. Continue reading “God Created You To Be A Giver”
A few years ago I was going through a great personal battle. One of my daughters was suffering a grave injustice and I was trying to help her through the trauma, but my prayers seemed to be getting nowhere.
One day I was agonizing and playing the “tapes of injustice”( or should I say, “mp3’s”) in my mind. Do you know what I mean? There seem to be tapes that play over and over, reliving the horrendous things which have been done to us. Continue reading “No Option Here”
Day 24 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
There is one sin which is so prevalent that everyone is susceptible. In fact, if we don’t keep a watch over our own hearts, we will see this ugly one rise up. It’s the sin which caused the beautiful archangel, Lucifer, to become the hideous, evil Satan. That sin is pride, and since his fall, Satan has tried to bring this flaw into the lives of God’s children so that he might disrupt God’s purpose.
So how does this affect our prayers? Continue reading “We All Have To Watch Out For This”
Day 22 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
We started our mission in the shallow water, moving toward the deep. Now we are there: in the deep water – the water where you swim (Ezekiel 47). Our feet don’t touch bottom anymore; we can’t walk around in our own strength anymore. We have to trust in the Holy Spirit who is holding us up and taking us where He wants us to go. It may seem scary, but it is the best place to be.
This is the place where we truly belong to Jesus – spirit, soul, and body. He is our Lord. He encourages us, strengthens us, instructs us, and corrects us. Continue reading “Let’s Do Some Fine Tuning”
Day 21 28 days To Confidence In Prayer
We’ve covered a lot of territory in the last three weeks. We’ve talked about being born again, being filled with the Spirit, and honoring God’s Word as final authority. We’ve also talked about having dominion in the earth as a believer: the charge by God to speak His Word into the atmosphere. So now what? What exactly should we do when we pray?
Today we are going to talk about putting it all together. Continue reading “Putting It Together”
Day 20 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
For the last couple of days we have been talking about praying in tongues. (Praying in the Holy Spirit). Until you have entered into this phase of praying, there is no way you can comprehend its significance. This special gift can take your praying to a whole new level!
There are many times when you need prayer, but you don’t know exactly what to pray. You could have a problem with finances, your family, or your career. Sometimes you might be seeking wisdom. Other times you might need to pray for a situation involving others and you don’t know all the details involved in the problem. All of these are circumstances which could benefit from praying in tongues. Continue reading “Holy Spirit Prayer Brings Results”
Day 19 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
Today we are going to take a look at one of the most common verses in the Bible. If you have been a Christian for any time at all, , you probably know this verse.
He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love the Lord and who are called according to His purpose.
That’s a great verse, and very soothing, but if we will put it back into context, it could change your life. So let’s put that puzzle piece back where it belongs and see what the Holy Spirit was really saying. Continue reading “Are All Things Working For Your Good?”
Day 18 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
Take a deep breath, we’re going in deeper. Today we will be talking about something which I know is controversial. There are many Christians who try to say that this experience is not for today, but rarely will you find someone who has had the experience who will say that. So let’s get to it.
