Day 19 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
Today we are going to take a look at one of the most common verses in the Bible. If you have been a Christian for any time at all, , you probably know this verse.
Romans 8:28 He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love the Lord and who are called according to His purpose.That’s a great verse, and very soothing, but if we will put it back into context, it could change your life. So let’s put that puzzle piece back where it belongs and see what the Holy Spirit was really saying.
Romans 8:26-28 And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weaknesses; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because he intercedes for us according to the will of God. And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.If you are familiar with this verse, you may have a hard time even seeing its context. If that is so, plese spend some time meditating on these verses so that the truth can come into focus. The Holy Spirit speaking to us through Paul didn’t jump around from subject to subject – throwing out all sorts of ideas. he was speaking to us about one very impoertant subject: praying in tongues (with groanings too deep for words – not in our own language).
So what does the Holy Spirit say? He says here that, as we pray in tongues (or the spirit), God’s perfect plan comes into reality. We are praying God’s perfect will – which is always good. Even when we don’t know what we are praying, we can know that we are praying according to the perfect will of God – making all things work together for our good – and the good of those for whom we are praying.
The Holy Spirit- Knows the mind of the Spirit (God’s will)
- Knows the hearts (our desires)
- Prays according to the perfect will of God
This is so significant! When we pray in tongues we are praying God’s perfect will into existence. Within you there are so many gifts and talents – potential put there by your Creator. As you pray in tongues, your destiny begins to take shape and even spring forth. You begin to see more clearly, hear more clearly, and you are energized to do what your Father has purposed in your life.
As you pray for others, you are able to pray without knowing all of their secrets. God knows and He will pray through you what they need. Over the years, I have seen God work so quickly and miraculously in the lives of my family. As challenges have come, as they do to all, His hand has been so obvious. I attribute much of that to prayers in tongues – even when I didn’t know what to pray – or even when I
didn’t know what the problems were. God always knows and His prayers are perfect.
Today is a good day to pray in tongues, if you have that gift already. If not, please spend time with Him and His Word. Ask your Father for your prayer language, if you want it. It is His desire to give it to you.
