Any of us who have been in the faith walk for awhile are very active about our faith. We pray and we decree continually. We also seek God to find what to decree next.

The one thing we sometimes miss is to “be still and know that He is God.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

There is so much turbulence in our world right now that it’s hard to “be still.” We want to fix it. We want to think that we can “fix” it all with our prayers and declarations. But some of it we can’t fix.

What did I just say? I can hear the gasps now!

I have taught on the power of prayer so much that it seems like heresy for me to say that we can’t fix everything with our prayers. But that’s what I’m saying.

The world right now is complicated. It’s chaotic, and filled with anger, hate and anxiety. All of that tries to fall on us, but we must not allow that.

Our Pastor, Robbie Mathis, had an excellent sermon recently.

He was teaching about how God had worked in the life of Moses. Right at the start there were miracles – only God Himself could have planned and fulfilled.

I’ll recap a little. In Exodus 1: 15-22 The decree had gone out that all of the Hebrew male babies should be killed and thrown into the Nile River. The midwives had their way of avoiding this by saying the Hebrew women had their babies so soon that they couldn’t get to them in time to carry out the order.

(Exodus 2:1-10) One mother had a different idea. We don’t know how she knew to do this, whether she had a dream or just an unction from God, but she carried out something extraordinary. The mother of Moses made a basket for him and sealed it with pitch so that it would be waterproof. She then placed her baby in the basket in the Nile River and had his sister, Miriam, watch to see what happened to him.

Pharoah’s daughter came down to the Nile to bathe, and saw the baby. Having pity on him, she took him home to raise him. And it just so happened that Miriam “knew someone who could nurse him.” (Her mother, of course). So Pharoah’s daughter paid Jochebed to nurse Moses during those early years.

Now think about the faith that Jochebed had to put her baby in the Nile River. She had total trust in God that He would provide deliverance for her son.

As Apostle Robbie said, “She put him on the altar.” When he said those words, I literally felt God’s peace pour out on me.

You realize that He has a plan. For our families, our country, our world, and our well-being.

Of course, we pray. We obey. Then we “put it on the altar.” Whether it is our family, our health, our provision, or our country.

Only our heavenly Father knows all that is going on. And only our Father can work it out. He has miracle plans that we can’t even imagine. He has the hosts of Heaven which are ready to work on our behalf.

When we do put things on the altar, we are still operating in faith. In a greater faith, because we are trusting God with His plan to bring our prayers about. We don’t have to know it all in order to benefit from His work. We trust Him.

We cast our cares upon Him, knowing that he cares for us, and he is performing what works for our ultimate benefit.

Phillippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

And Keep on Soaring …
