Day 17 28 Days To Confidence In Prayer
Have you ever heard Christians speak God’s Word when they were praying? Do you do that? If so, do you understand why? Well today we are going into deeper water (as mentioned in Ezekiel 47). We want to be more effective in prayer, so let’s get some more clarity about God’s plan: what we have called the “rules of the universe.”
One of the most helpful revelations you will ever have is that our world is run by words. We are such visual, action-oriented people, we may think that other things are more important than words. But when we think that, we are wrong. The most powerful force on earth is God’s Word.
Look around you and see the magnificence of God’s creation: the varieties of landscapes, the complexities of nature, the seasons, the synergy as different species complement each other. All of that came into being by God speaking. (Genesis 1).
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things that are visible.Things we can’t see, The Words of God, created the things we see. The worlds were literally made by the Word of God. Stop for a minute and think about what we are saying. God’s Word not only created everything we see, but that power is also keeping everything in place. It upholds all things, causing them to continue in their operation.
Hebrews 1:2,3 God, in these last days, has spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds, who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power.What a mouthful! Only God Himself can reveal to you the power of that concept. The Words God originally spoke are still holding everything in place.
Now if you are hearing Star Wars music, you need to turn it off. This isn’t Star Wars; this is fact. This is how God designed the universe, and He wants you to tap into it for your good and for those around you. When you look at the ministry of Jesus you see this concept over and over. How did He raise Lazarus from the dead? (John 11:43). How did He still the storm? (Mark 4: 39) In each case he spoke to the circumstances. ruling through His Words.
Jesus often charged His disciples (and that’s us) that what they said was important.
Mark 11:23-24 Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be taken up and cast into the sea.” And does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him. Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you received them, and they shall be granted you.In this passage, Jesus is talking about faith, but He is also talking about words. “If you say.” “Believe what you say.” When God’s Words are read and valued, they are revealed to you and your faith rises. Then as you speak them out, you help bring about God’s plan – His very good, loving plan into your life and into your sphere of influence. Remember, this is His design, so work with Him. Pray God’s Word and speak God’s Word as He directs. You will truly see Him at work on your behalf.
Even when we speak God’s Word, we don’t have the power that Jesus did. Things may not happen as fast, but they will happen if we don’t give up!
Today, take out your list of needs for yourself and others. See what God says about them and begin to speak that word. Your faith will rise as you hear yourself speak, so you will become more powerful as you go along. Set aside some time today to get alone with your Heavenly Father and let Him minister these things to you. Trust Him. Obey Him. Life is good!!
